We are looking for a visionary leader to take on the role of Head of In-Flight Entertainment, Connectivity & Publications. In this pivotal position, you will define, implement, and manage a cutting-edge portfolio of in-flight entertainment, connectivity, and publication products and services. By leveraging technology, creativity, and operational excellence, you’ll ensure our offerings remain world-class and aligned with Etihad’s brand and commercial strategy.
Accountabilities
- Define and implement the operational, content, and editorial vision and strategy for IFE and publications, to meet tight programme turnarounds, and ensure the IFEC offering showcases the Etihad brand, exceeding guest expectations.
- Define and manage the implementation of IFEC hardware and software configurations on new fleet programmes in coordination with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs); Boeing, Airbus and IFEC vendors.
- Accountable for ensuring service readiness and cabin crew training across the entire Etihad fleet, on IFEC systems before EIS.
- Oversee the IFE team, to manage the day-to-day IFEC operations for a fleet of 100+ aircraft with 7 different IFEC configurations including mobile and Wi-Fi services, content, headsets, and service recovery operations.
- Manage an annual OPEX budget of over US$22M including ensuring costs are kept within agreed budgets and revenue targets are met.
- Ensure effective management of IFEC and Publications vendors and contracts, with adherence to SLAs.
- Brand custodian of the E-BOX, E-BOX Stream, Etihad Wi-Fly and Atlas brands including development and implementation of the brand and strategy in conjunction with Brand Marketing.
- Provide benchmarking, data analysis and insights on IFEC topics to the CEO and executive management, to aid multi-million-dollar business decisions and fleet investments.
- Part of the Customer Care Leadership team
- Manage the Inflight Entertainment and Publications team of 5 direct reports within the IFE and publications departments.
- Extensive travel to suppliers and airline partners required to global supplier and IFEC vendors/partners.
Education & Experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of Digital Media/Mass Communications (essential)
- At least 12-15 years’ experience in a Senior Management position in IFEC within an airline, content service provider or OEM (essential)
- Deep understanding of IFEC hardware, software, and connectivity systems, with the ability to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, drive, and influence change.
- Proven track record of managing large budgets and meeting revenue targets.
- Expertise in stakeholder management, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
