About the role:

Responsible for leading the project by reviewing, overseeing, managing, coordinating, supervising and inspecting all aspects of works related to Architectural during the design and construction of expansion projects to ensure it meets the design brief, building regulations and standards. Also, responsible to implement plans and engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects within budget and timescales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive design review function to ensure quality design and best practices are implemented to the projects.
• Manage/direct team of Engineers and Inspectors inspecting all works to ensure proper quality control and that the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Implement and enforce quality assurance and control procedures.
• Lead review of mock-ups, method statements and shop drawings and ensure they are in compliance with the drawings and specifications and are coordinated across disciplines.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests and provide the Review Reports.
• Lead inspections on permanent works executed by the Contractor on site and provide commentary detailing any deficiencies/non-conformance and necessary corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to Conduct review, on a daily basis, all inspection and associated forms submitted by -contractors to ensure that they are using updated construction drawings before assigning them to Inspectors.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to Ensure Contractors performance of remedial works raised on the non- compliance register.
• Attend contractors RFI, technical and design query/reply from design office.
• Lead regular site walk-through and inspection to identify anomalies and/or construction defects.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to develop and implement site planning, logistics and procedures for the execution of the works. Coordinate with Project Manager to Develop and implement work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
• Liaise, coordinate, direct and monitor the activities of PM/CM, Design Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, direct labour and materials, etc.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure the works on site align with the activities of inspection agencies as necessary.
• Establish and enforce a comprehensive project safety and security program as defined in the safety program and in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Review Consultants and Contractors payment applications and participate in the timely preparation of monthly payment requisition.
• Coordinate the required design changes on site with other disciplines and ensure that design is followed through.
• Keep Head of Department informed as to any changes made in the field. Review and advise Head on man-power requirements and allocations. Liaise between design and site offices.
• Attend and lead any meeting/workshop with stakeholders and government agencies as required. Attend and contribute to the Design Manager meeting chaired by the Head of department.
• Lead weekly design meetings with MPD design team, design managers, design consultants and Project Manager.
• Manage testing and commissioning, project close out, including securing warranties, guarantees, and acceptance of the work, contract vendor closeout and handover.
• Coordinate with Airport Operational Readiness (AOR) Team for airport operation.
• Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
• Degree in Architecture/Engineering in the required field of expertise.
• Minimum 5 years site experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices is required.
