Under general supervision, receive, store, deliver, pack, and ship all incoming and outgoing goods for the company in accordance with quality standards. Ensures that documentation, tooling and parts are correctly matched to paperwork.
To ensure all materials are received, stored, and issued per production requirements, and shipped to vendor when completed, conforming to visual and dimensional specifications on technique cards.
Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work.
Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
Verifies inbound or outbound tooling is visually checked for damage such as burrs, nicks, cuts, scratches, gouges, metal fatigue and cracks.
Receives, unloads, and unpacks incoming shipments, makes count checks and compares with packing slips
Completes log of incoming materials, enters receiving information into computer, stores in appropriate area, and forwards all pertinent paperwork to proper departments.
Takes periodic inventory counts following prescribed procedures and routines. Has knowledge of computerized "Consumption" inventory process.
Keeps all stock in good order.
Ships and transports materials to production areas ensuring no damage to parts.
Prepares items for shipment to customers. Verifies parts and items, etc., against shipping documents or orders for correct items and specified number.
Selects and places protective packing on items as required.
Selects and assembles cartons or cases, places items in container with required separation to prevent damage, scratches, etc. with information from Electronic Tech Card System.
Seals container, affixes address label and other appropriate labels/stamps, weighs container and contents, and completes documentation as assigned.
Clarifies any shipping discrepancies with appropriate people.
Prepares and records bills of lading and shipping reports.
Demonstrate leadership ability and set good examples for the rest of the department.
Demonstrate cooperation when assistance is needed by the management and must possess the ability to train incoming personnel.
Demonstrate the ability to complete all departmental paperwork in fine detail and explain the logic of all phases.
Demonstrate the ability to make cost analysis for decision making, and exercise good judgment.
Be proficient in using the on-line computer system as required in their job and identified in their procedures to perform their assigned tasks.
Demonstrate good work habits (all materials stacked neatly on shelves, labeled and accessible to departments) and attitudes. Budget time well, accomplish most important tasks first. Normally avoids unnecessary conversation with others in plant.
Able to work under minimal supervision and to ensure all materials are properly received and correctly stored in the proper locations.
Be able to correctly use computerized receiving system and maintain logs of all outgoing and incoming shipments as required.
Possess a valid driver’s license in order to pick up and deliver materials, parts, and supplies in a timely manner with an excellent safety record.
Meet the schedule of the CCO/SLO truck loading on Friday without incident as well as secure the month end shipment truck.
Prepares parts for shipment (oil dipping, processing from Q.C. and Heat Treat Departments, etc.).
Possess the physical strength and stamina to put in a full shift in assigned jobs.
Demonstrate proper procedures for signing off traveler, filling out department slips, labor vouchers, and any other department documents.
Meets all production and quality standards.
Performs all other duties assigned.
