CNC Control Programmer Chandler, AZ $36-43/hrJob Description
Supports the design and manufacture of hardware in a machine shop setting through the use of CNC and manual manufacturing tooling. Responsibilities include the manufacture of hardware, training of less experienced personnel, adherence to and enforcement of safety standards, and skillset progression through training. Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyzes engineering drawings to define the configuration of parts and determine the type and sequence of machine operations. Develops programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machines such as a mill and lathe. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, considering factors such as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and manufacture of hardware in a machine shop setting.

- Develop programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machines such as mills and lathes.

- Select program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part.
- Test and modify existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
- Train less experienced personnel in the operation and programming of CNC machines.
- Adhere to and enforce safety standards in the workplace.
Essential Skills- 5 years of programming experience, with NX CAM preferred.
- Experience with 5-axis live-tool lathe, 5-axis mill, and 3-axis mill.
- Machine setup and operation experience, including 5-axis live-tool lathe and 3-axis mill (Haas).
- Experience with manual mill and band saws.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Active listening skills.
- Empathy and the ability to separate personal expectations from objective evaluations.
- Ability to provide machining suggestions and best practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 10 years of experience in programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills and lathes.
- Past mentorship or leadership experience.
- Experience in improving manufacturing and shop processes for efficiency gains.
- Experience with NXCAM and MasterCAM (preferred).

Work Environment
This position is 100 on-site with a possibility of up to 10 hours of overtime per month. The schedule follows a 9/80 structure with a 7 am start time, although there is some flexibility. You will be working in the DOT division, focusing on launch vehicles. The work environment includes the use of various technologies and equipment, such as CNC mills, lathes, manual mills, and band saws.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
