Job Title: Met Lab Technician
Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for Met Lab Technician.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine spectrographic analysis of magnesium & aluminum alloys.
- Perform routine tensile testing on Mag & Alum. Products.
- Periodically operate CNC lathe, milling machine, band saw and drill
- Learn and operate special application software programs for tensile & spectrometer
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager
Position Requirements
- Must be able to read, write and speak English, bilingual a plus
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to work overtime when needed, especially at month end.
- Must have good attendance record
- Must be able to pass math exam with basic problem solving
- Must be detail oriented, must be able to multi-task
- Demonstrated strong work ethic
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic melting experience (but not required)
- Knowledge of basic alloys (but not required)
- Foundry experience (but not required)
