YOUR ROLE AS:
Intern – Product Innovation is responsible for assisting in all aspects of product development, from concept to commercialization, across AirAsia In-flight and SANTAN Café. This role supports planning, execution, quality assessment, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:
Assist in product development from ideation to commercialization across all airline operating countries under AirAsia In-flight and SANTAN Café.
Support planning and execution of the product development calendar based on company/departmental goals, sales analysis, spaneting strategies, and customer feedback.
Conduct on-board and/or on-ground testing for new products and evaluate existing products periodically to ensure quality and consistency.
Assist AirAsia In-flight, SANTAN Café, and other relevant departments in finalizing new products, including photo shoots, food styling, and menu description writing and proofreading.
Collaborate with relevant departments to launch new products and provide briefings and training to Flight Attendants and Operations Teams.
Coordinate sampling events, document product performance, and review results.
Support the establishment of food safety and quality requirements for food product specifications with assessment from the QA Team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in quality assurance responsibilities as required.
WHO YOU ARE:
Background in Culinary, Food Technology, or Food Science.
Passionate about food product development and innovation.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to industry trends.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Prior experience or coursework in food product development, food safety, or quality assurance is a plus.
Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Culinary Arts, Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
Understanding of food safety regulations and product development processes is an advantage.
