The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Locksmith to join the Physical Security team in Ridley Park, PA.
We are looking for a candidate who will perform maintenance activities that include the installation, adjustment, and repairs for all types of locks and keys. You will keep a record of combinations, locks, and keys while working various types of lock and key systems throughout the Boeing Philadelphia site.
Position Responsibilities:
Installs, maintains, and repairs various types of lock and key systems throughout the company
Maintains records of combinations, locks and keys for accountability
Obtains work through lock and key request forms, electronic mail, Simple K system or phone calls for work to be performed
Operates a personal computer to access job information (e.g., specifications to locks, manufactures diagrams, key codes, data bases), as required
Coordinates information with customers for necessary items (e.g., locks, keys) to perform repair and rework, as required
Operates a motor vehicle (e.g., scooter, van, or pickup) to reach offsite and in-plant locations, as required
Coordinates with security, facilities and customers for accountability
Uses architectural or structural blueprints to determine installation or repair work of locking devices, as required
Operates power tools (e.g., key machine, drill and Skill-saw) to duplicate keys, deburr, and cut parts, as required
Uses hand tools (e.g., lock picks, screwdrivers and wrenches) in the rework/rebuild process, as required
Uses algebra/trigonometry in the calculation of locations for drill templates for locks and safes, as required
Originates keys by impersonating as required
Maintains inventory of supplies (e.g., locks, pins, key blanks) in shop
Evaluates work area for safety requirements (e.g., confined space, eye, ear protection) prior to entry, as required
Handles and dispose of hazardous materials received in an approved manner
Maintains personal and equipment certifications, as required
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience as a locksmith, installing, repairing and maintaining locking devices and security systems
3+ years of experience with various types of handheld power tools
Must have the ability to lift 35 pounds
Must have a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in Industrial Security, Facilities Security, Personnel Security, and/or in a cleared environment
Lock and Key trade/vocational training
Experience with complex lock and key systems in large facilities like hospitals, schools or manufacturing
Experience maintaining master system key codes and cross file index for all keys
Experience working with hazardous materials
