Job overview and responsibilities
The Counsel - Labor and Employment position will serve as a Labor and Employment Law attorney for Uniteds in-house legal department. This position reports to the Senior Managing Counsel and will focus on supporting Uniteds employment litigation portfolio. In addition, this role will include some counseling and special projects related to compliance and employment/labor related matters.
- Manage and direct outside counsel, including taking the lead in developing strategy and tactics on employment litigation matters
- Provide strategic, timely, practical counseling to various different client groups regarding employment related issues
- Conduct training and presentations on various employment law issues of legal significance in various forums
- Assist in development and implementation of employment and labor-related company policies and programs and assist in Company compliance of federal, state and local labor and employment laws and regulations
- Required travel up to 20
- Review Federal and State discrimination charges and investigations
- This role is located in Chicago and follows a hybrid schedule

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
The base pay range for this role is $175,750.00 to $228,818.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
