Job Description
The Chief Security Officer will oversee security operations across all AirAsia X (AAX) stations in China, with a primary base in Beijing. The role involves planning, implementing, monitoring, and controlling security functions and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations. The individual will ensure a secure environment for AAX flights and act as the key liaison between AAX and local regulatory authorities in China.
Functional Responsibilities
Oversee and manage security operations at all AAX stations in China.
Plan, implement, monitor, and control security procedures to ensure the safety and security of all AAX flights.
Act as the primary liaison between AirAsia X and local Chinese regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations.
Role Responsibilities
Serve as the key contact between AAX and the local regulator, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Lead the development, amendment, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Track the progress of security operations against annual plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Update the AAX Security Program as required by local Chinese regulatory bodies.
Functional Duties
Oversee all matters related to security operations, ensuring a secure environment for all AAX flights.
Conduct frequent quality control assessments and investigations to ensure compliance with security standards.
Manage and supervise security contractors to ensure the delivery of agreed-upon service levels.
Report any security breaches, inadequacies, and non-compliance to the Head of Security.
Perform Security Risk Assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for threats affecting AirAsia X operations.
Act as the Air Carrier Management Representative (ACMR) on behalf of AirAsia X.

Experience:
Some experience working with an airlines Security Department.
Education: Diploma in any relevant field.
Professional Qualifications:
ICAO AVSEC Management Certification
ICAO National Inspector/Auditor Certification (or China CAAC equivalent for auditors).
ICAO National Instructor Certification (or China CAAC equivalent for training).
Familiarity with airline business systems and processes.
Language Proficiency: Able to speak and write fluently in English.
