Job Title: General Machinist Level 3 or 4
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled General Machinist with level 3 or 4 expertise to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience with horizontal and vertical milling centers, and will work in a temperature-controlled machine shop setting up and operating various machines to create metal parts with precision and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines such as mills, lathes, chuckers, and honing machines.
- Perform complex manual operations including trimming, polishing, and bending metal parts to exact tolerances.
- Interpret complicated blueprints, sketches, specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Solve problems related to work holding arrangements, materials, machine settings, tools, and fabrication methods.
- Plan sequence of operations, determine number of cuts required, and method of setup.
- Knowledge of elementary geometry, algebra, and trigonometric principles.
- Ability to read precision measuring instruments, drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
- Proficiency in making minor modifications to NC/CNC equipment programs.
- Experience with Haas Mills, Horizontal Milling Centers, FANUC Controls, first article inspection, and program check-out.
- Ability to read g-code and change/calibrate radius.
Work Environment
The work environment is a clean and organized machine shop offering a climate-controlled environment, that is deadline-driven and may require overtime.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $39.25/hr.
