We were meant to fly.As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – CRO Repair Shop Floor Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting shop repair activities and driving the industrialization of new repair processes and assembly drawings. As the key shop floor engineer for CRO operations/programs, you will work closely with all relevant functions, collecting and sharing the technical information needed to develop and execute repair activities effectively.You will demonstrate leadership in achieving short-term and selected long-term business goals for the assigned CRO program. Leveraging your strong problem-solving skills and cross-functional collaboration, you will develop and execute objectives for yourself and for others.You will also support CRO Program Management and Marketing by providing solid planning for the industrialization of repair schemes and/or assembly drawings, with the primary goal of meeting program milestones and achieving manufacturing target costs.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing methods and create process routings (EMPC+) in accordance to the Approved Data and/or assembly drawing
  • Support the shop activities solve technical problems related to the Components in house for Repair
  • Update Shop Documentation in accordance to the OEM Documentation and/or assembly drawing
  • Prepare and Issue Technical Instruction in the form of Operation/Process Cards
  • Evaluate effects of applicable Technical Instruction on Shop Activities and on Equipment and Tooling facilities
  • Support Commercial Dept. by preparing Cost Evaluation and Shop Readiness Planning for new Products Industrialization
  • Define Tooling and Equipment Specification and Support Purchasing Dept. for the procurement of Tooling and Equipment
  • Industrialize OEM Repair schemes in Accordance to the Technical Approved Data
  • Design, Develop and Industrialize New Repair schemes on the basis of the evaluation of the evidence coming from the CRO Shop
  • Lead Qualification Plans for related Repair schemes for the achievement of the Source Substantiation
  • Coordinate the team of Specialists involved in the specific Repair Industrialization Plan by defining Schedule
  • Provide basic specification for the Tooling, Equipment and Machinery necessary for the industrialization of the Repair Schemes
  • Provide/support Cost Estimation and Planning for the Industrialization of the Repair Schemes, with the main objectives of matching the Program Milestones and reach the Manufacturing Target Cost
  • Support Design and Building / Procurement of necessary tooling and equipment within budgets

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar)
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or design within aero engines maintenance and component repair, in similar roles (production processes & methods, tooling & equipment procurement)
  • Proven experience in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read AeroEngine Components Manufacturing Drawings and Specifications and manage information coming from such docs
  • Knowledge of Repair Production Processes and Machining
  • Ability to design by using a CAD System
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Aero Engines Component Repair Processes
  • Ability to use EMPC+ production tracking system
  • Ability to elaborate basic Rework Tooling Specification on the basis of the Component Drawing requirements
  • Knowledge of Aero Engines Component Maintenance Documentation (Engine Shop Manual, Component Maintenance, Standard Practices Manual, Service Bulletins, etc.)
  • Basic Knowledge of NDT and Special Processes typically used for the Jet Engines CRO/MRO applications
  • Knowledge of basic Statistical Analysis Tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Six Sigma training
