We are looking for a Supervisor Sr. Importaciones y Exportaciones to deliver extraordinary experiences for our customers. This role is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented, proactive individual who understands how to coordinate import and export customs clearance processes with customs brokers throughout Mexico, ensuring compliance with applicable customs regulations. The position is responsible for reviewing customs documentation, coordinating aircraft import and export operations with customs authorities across Mexican airports, monitoring temporary import permits for Grupo Aeromexicos fleet to ensure timely closure, managing customs and transportation service providers, controlling operational costs, tracking key performance indicators, and providing timely status updates to internal stakeholders while maintaining efficient foreign trade operations.
Educational requirements:
- Bachelors degree in International Business, International Relations, Commercial Relations, or International Trade.
- Intermediate to advanced conversational English.
Experience:
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and overseeing customs brokers.
- Experience with customs regulations, tariff classification, and foreign trade compliance (Customs Law, Free Trade Agreements, General Foreign Trade Rules, and Customs Regulations).
- Experience coordinating import and export operations, including customs clearance processes.
- Knowledge of reviewing and validating customs documentation (Commercial Invoices, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, and Customs Entries).
- Experience negotiating and controlling customs broker expenses.
- Experience coordinating foreign trade operations with internal stakeholders and service providers, including aircraft acquisitions and retirements.
- Experience monitoring KPIs, controlling costs, and resolving issues with customs service providers.
Skills to succeed:
- Knowledge of customs legislation and foreign trade regulations.
- Experience coordinating operations with customs authorities, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve discrepancies and manage negotiated rates.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operations simultaneously.
- Experience tracking KPIs and preparing management reports.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external providers.
