About the Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Manager & Content Creator to join BigPay Malaysia, a leading digital bank in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local culture, trends, and online behavior in Malaysia, and will be responsible for crafting engaging, relatable, and on-brand content across our social media channels. You will help drive engagement, build brand awareness, and foster strong connections with our local community by creating content that resonates with our target
audience.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about storytelling, social media, and building a digital brand in the banking industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Strategy:

    • Develop and execute content strategies for various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.), ensuring they are aligned with our overall spaneting objectives and brand voice.

    • Create compelling, localized, and relatable content (graphics, videos, copy) that speaks to the Malaysian audiences cultural nuances, trends, and preferences.

    • Focus on storytelling to highlight customer experiences, brand values, and product features in a way that feels authentic and approachable.

    • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., spaneting, product, design) to brainstorm and create content that supports key campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.

  • Social Media Management:

    • Manage day-to-day social media activity, including posting, monitoring, and engaging with followers on various platforms.

    • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and positive manner, building community engagement and rapport with followers.

    • Maintain an editorial calendar, ensuring consistent and relevant content is posted to maintain a strong social media presence.

  • Content Planning & Local Relevance:

    • Stay updated on local trends, pop culture, and current events in Malaysia to create timely, relevant, and engaging content that connects with our audience.

    • Leverage local celebrations, holidays, and events (e.g., Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Merdeka) to develop relevant content that resonates with the Malaysian spanet.

    • Conduct research on customer interests, behaviors, and pain points to ensure content speaks to the needs and desires of local audiences.

  • Campaign Execution & Performance Tracking:

    • Execute content-based campaigns that support broader spaneting initiatives, including influencer collaborations, contests, giveaways, and other interactive activities.

    • Track the performance of social media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement based on metrics such as engagement rates, reach, and conversions.

    • Monitor competitors and industry trends to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, and competitive.

  • Brand Consistency & Quality:

    • Ensure that all social media content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains consistency in tone, style, and messaging.

    • Edit and proofread content to ensure it is error-free, clear, and on-brand before posting.

  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work:

    • Work with cross-functional teams (spaneting, design, product) to ensure that content is aligned with the bank’s strategic goals and objectives.

    • Build relationships with local influencers and partners to amplify content reach and build community connections.

    • Support internal teams with content needs for other digital channels, including websites, emails, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.

    • 3-5 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital spaneting, preferably in the fintech or banking sector.

    • Proven experience in creating content that resonates with local, Malaysian audiences across various social media platforms.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft engaging and relatable copy.

    • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).

    • Knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing content.

    • Understanding of social media trends, pop culture, and local references within the Malaysian context.

    • Strong understanding of social media algorithms and best practices to maximize reach and engagement.

    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Personal Attributes:

    • Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for storytelling and digital spaneting.

    • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for high-quality content.

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
