The Operations Quality Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of product quality within the Air Management Systems (AMS) group in Windsor Locks, CT. By providing visionary leadership and strategic direction, this position ensures that every team member—regardless of their level—contributes to a robust and healthy quality signature for our products.

Leading a dynamic team of both salaried and hourly professionals, the Senior Manager, Quality Engineering fosters an inclusive environment that empowers individuals to excel in their roles. What You Will Do

  • Foster a diverse culture of engaged and committed employees.
  • Support site Quality Management System in accordance with current quality standards.
  • Direct quality deliverables and initiatives including: inspection standard work,  inspector proficiency, certificate of Conformance review, shipment data packages, root cause and investigation.
  • Work cross functionally resolving problems with product quality impacting operations and customers.
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and technologies.
  • Drive product and process improvements ensuring the value stream quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework, Throughput, Process Certification).
  • Establish systems to support data integrity and accessibility.

What You Will Learn

  • Deepen your understanding of quality management systems and current industry standards, learning how to effectively implement and support them across the site.
  • Enhance your skills in collaboration by working with various departments to resolve product quality issues that affect operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Prior supervisory experience leading teams of quality professionals
  • Experience leveraging effective problem-solving skills to deliver change
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging listening, coaching and influencing skills

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
