Job Responsibilities
- Main objective of the role is to Optimize the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing floor while at the same time helping to streamline workflows in order to enhance profitability for the program family under his or her leadership
- Leads the manufacturing execution of experienced Manufacturing Operations Supervisors and touch labor personnel for a program family.
- Ensures the execution of the MRP plan to meet customer deliveries and financial objectives.
- Coordinates the release of production work orders in support of contractual requirements and the Master Production Schedule
- Accurately manages WIP materials and provide status to planning as required.
- Manages overall execution of capital projects within a value stream/Program area.
- Provides effective and efficient use of labor resulting in competitive labor costs within contract bid labor. This includes direct responsibility for HPU actuals on a program.
- Ensures that equipment capacity, tooling and trained resource are available to guarantee on-time hardware delivery.
- Supports business scenario planning.
- Provides support in the development of new products and processes via the New Product Introduction (NPI) Process
- Assures manufacturing area is held to the required standard. This includes compliance with Environmental Safety and Health and published work instruction, test procedure, and business processes and procedures.
- Analyzes and improves operational processes, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing strategies to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Creates capital roadmaps that align to overall roadmaps; aggregate inputs from Manufacturing and Engineering
Job Responsibilities Part II
- Works collaboratively with the Integrated Product/Program Teams (IPT) to ensure status, areas of improvements, and risks are highlighted to the team.
- Capable of resolving complex issues/problems utilizing comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes
- Develop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives.
- Develop and recommend short- and long-range objectives, consistent with organization guidelines
- Coordinate operations and communications within, between, and among various functional areas
- Ensure operations conform to the organization’s policies and procedures, values, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Establishes, monitors, and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Coordinates team member recruitment and selection, career development, and performance assessment
- Drive continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six Sigma
- Continually identify and assess risks and deploy proactive mitigation plans
- Participates in the preparation and/or review of proposals for new business based upon RFP/RFQ requirements.
- Coordinates operations and communications within, between, and among various functional areas
- Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Maintain knowledge of current manufacturing and continuous improvement trends in the industry
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, operations or related field, or equivalent
- Proficient technical expertise with demonstrated application
- Knowledge and familiarity with standards (ISO, AS, etc)
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, communication and writing skills
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
