Job Summary
To efficiently manage and direct ramp activities to deliver high quality products/services to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage staff to deliver excellent customer service
- Support and identify training needs and where required train, coach and mentor the team
- Maintain applicable safety and performance standards
- Develop and build good relations with customers and Airport authorities
- Report irregularities and take appropriate action
- Conduct daily shift briefings
- Conduct safety meetings/briefings
- Liaise with OCC regarding daily workforce requirements and ensure available resources are used to the optimum level (monitor and control overtime payments)
- Ensure that daily equipment checks are performed as required, the equipment in use meets the operational standards
- and requirements and that any non-operational equipment is taken out of operation and reported to the GSE maintenance function
- Build and maintain good management/workforce relations
- Ensure workforce adherence to company policies and procedures, to safety and security requirements
- Supervisory responsibility over multiple teams
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensure deployment of the Corporate QHSE Manual
- Ensure all Swissport employees are familiarize with the Code of Conduct. It applies to all employees of the entire Swissport Group
- Ensure correct use of safety devices (including PPE), machinery, vehicles and equipment, only by suitably trained and qualified competent persons, also by means of regular briefings.
- Ensure team comply with Swissport procedures.
- Escalates decisions that require approval to deviate from Swissport or local procedures to the Station Manager
- Ensure that any incident, near miss, unsafe act or condition within their area of responsibility is immediately addressed and reported
- Ensure that incidents are reported and recorded before end of their shift
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Comply with the responsibilities detailed in the stations QHSE Management System Manual and the manuals under your responsibility and management, ensuring compliance with the requirements in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISAGO standards.
Qualifications and Competencies
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one-year experience in ramp service or related field
- Ability to speak and understand the English language
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge about operation of Ground Service Equipment
- Must possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
