Role Introduction
Reports to: Programme Manager
As a project manager, you will contribute operationally to the achievement of Information Management’s business objectives by delivering project management services across Cathay Pacific projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive, plan and direct all IT project activities to ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
- Analyse and review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, sourcing approach, delivery method, dependencies, procedures for accomplishing projects, negotiate staffing requirements to various project phases
- Cross-teams and cross–department collaboration with stakeholders to drive business and technology innovation to achieve business unit’s strategic plan and business objectivesManage the dynamic project team of individuals. Provide thoughtful leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle
- Actively foster a continuous learning and cross-team knowledge sharing culture among project delivery groups
- Provide strategic guidance on project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) based on project requirements and organizational context, securing approval and funding from governance bodies
- Leverage project planning and management techniques to gain a competitive advantage for the organization
- Partner with IT Risk and Security Leads, Infrastructure/Security Architects, and Infrastructure Leads to drive innovation and align Cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Testing team to establish quality assurance testing plans that comply with company standards
- Attention to detail, and ability to organise and prioritize workload for the team.
- Communicate and escalate risks and issues clearly and concisely and to support management with the preparation of action plans
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology and project management practices, ensuring timely exploration and proactively communicate IT’s position towards the introduction of relevant / key emerging technologies
- Proactively coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and subcontractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
Requirements
- Degree holder in Information Technology, Business or related area
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in project management role. For an Assistant Project Manager minimum of 5 years of IT experience
- Proven experience in managing projects with ability to multitask and manage multiple small to medium projects in a cross-functional environment
- Detailed knowledge of the following disciplines: project and program delivery, portfolio management, application development management, infrastructure development management, vendor management, service transition and cutover planning
- Technical proficiency in hardware and system software, as well as experience implementing packages and working with vendors
- Project management related certification such as PMP
- Scrum Master or experience in Agile development management
- Proven experience in managing OPEX Cost/Budget management
- Project Manager need to have knowledge in Cybersecurity and IT infrastructure
