Overview

Manages assigned Powerplant Program Maintenance, including shop oversight, planning, scheduling, and coordinating the logistics of multi-million dollar programs. Will aid in technical support that economically ensures the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of Atlas Air assigned aircraft Powerplant programs. Responsible for all assigned Powerplant Planning, coordination, and oversight of all customer engines enforces relevant policies and procedures for coordination and oversight of customer related Powerplant programs.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure assigned Powerplant programs are managed within the heavy maintenance services budget requirements
  • Prioritize Powerplant Planning and Program actions and proactively communicate to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Report on the status of projects and present issues to be resolved as directed.
  • Issue instructions and documents to economically support operations and return engines to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner.
  • Manage the service workload including routine, continued items, and modification and special inspections of assigned customer Powerplant programs.
  • Provide data and work with the Purchasing Department in the vendor selection process to select vendors for the services. May assist in the review of the final vendor contracts.
  • Coordinate all material and tooling requirements with Atlas Air material department and the service provider.
  • Monitor assigned Powerplant programs while under service, coordinate with the on-site team/vendors for quality, costs, performance to schedule, and release date. Review status and recommend options to ensure optimal outcome. May also require on-site visits.
  • Report on vendor performance including Powerplant/Thrust Reverser scheduled maintenance ground time (planned vs. actual), service yield, costs and reliability of the Powerplant after service.
  • Support integration of new and previously operated Powerplant product.
  • Liaise with manufacturers; maintenance representatives, repair & overhaul (MRO) facilities; outside engineering departments; regulatory personnel; and other outside agencies.
  • Participate in industry working groups, industry steering committees, industry meetings, and conferences.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Planning and Engineering to schedule and provide oversight of borescope inspections as required.
  • Work with original equipment manufacturers on emerging issues to help ensure safety and airworthiness, but also minimize the economic impact.
  • Organize and provide all necessary Powerplant Engineering documentation required to complete aircraft PowerPlant modifications and repairs within the allocated time schedule and budget allowance.
  • Coordinate with Engineering staff to provide 24/7 operational support as needed
  • Review Powerplant portion of the Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Program and coordinate with Engineering to initiate maintenance program changes and changes to maintenance documents as required.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • B.S. Engineering/Technical Engineering Degree required.
  • 10 years aerospace experience with Aircraft Maintenance experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years Aircraft Powerplant experience with Powerplant Engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Familiarity with aircraft engine systems and components.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of large Powerplant systems and components design.
  • Ability to identify cost effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage at multiple levels
  • Ability to interface with customers, manufacturers and regulatory agencies.
  • Some financial analysis skills required.

Salary Range: $91,000- $123,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
