The Role

 

The Network Manager is responsible for planning and managing the deployment of capacity across a portfolio of bases with the objective of maximising long-term profitability. You will oversee easyJet’s portfolio of routes across allocated bases in Europe with a planning horizon ranging from three weeks before operation to two to three years into the future. 

 

In order to succeed in this role you will develop a detailed knowledge of the drivers to performance across the routes which include but are not limited to, macro-economic trends, competitor activity, schedule and product attractiveness, destination attractiveness and route specific costs.

 

You will work closely with colleagues across the airline to communicate and deliver this strategy and closely monitor trading to understand where capacity modifications are required. Ultimately, capacity allocation is easyJet’s biggest commercial lever and this is a key role in deliver success for the business.

 

 

How you will do it:

 

You will be responsible for the production of a clear Network strategy at each of the bases and at a country level and for driving improvement in profitability via detailed and robust recommendations for each season’s schedule build, followed up by capacity adjustments as necessary including through annual thinning processes.

Your comprehensive understanding of all aspects and drivers of performance at the country, base and route level will allow you to make informed commercial decisions identify opportunities and risks

Balance investment in capacity growth between self-diluting on profitable routes, competitive investment, and new routes / markets to maximise contribution over the short and long term

Job Requirements:

What you will need to do the role:

 

·          Ideally you will have experience in a commercial or planning capacity in an airline setting where you will have used your acumen and judgement to make decisions in the face of uncertainty

·          Your strong stakeholder management will enable you to work with multidisciplinary teams to improve performance and get things done, you will also have excellent influencing and presentational skills

·          With a numerate and analytical background you will have experience in modelling and analysis using complex and diverse data sets

·          You will also need to be proficient in MS Excel with the ability to use MS PowerPoint to clearly and effectively deliver messages

·          Fluency in Italian or Portuguese whilst not a necessity would be beneficial

Location & Hours of Work

 

This role can be carried out at our Head Office in Luton or a number of our European bases. As a business we typically spend 60% of our time together as a team. There will also be some travel required within our European base network.
