Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production employees within a specific focus-factory/process. The role involves ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and productivity targets are met, while fostering technical skill development and on-time delivery to meet customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this position also serves as a backup for the Director when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with support departments to ensure all production methods align with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and AS9100 compliance.

  2. Assist Planners/Schedulers in effectively scheduling operations within the assigned focus-factory/process.

  3. Establish, analyze, and communicate performance standards for the focus-factory/process.

  4. Manage the flow of products, materials, and labor utilization to maximize productivity and minimize costs, ensuring safety, quality, inventory, and throughput goals are met.

  5. Review and plan daily, weekly, and quarterly labor, equipment, tooling, and supply requirements to maintain manufacturing throughput and exceed productivity targets.

  6. Lead daily team meetings, align employees with departmental goals, and solicit feedback to remove obstacles and improve the work environment.

  7. Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing systems that enhance internal and external quality, reduce costs, and improve on-time delivery.

  8. Maintain and document all department functions, including daily Time and Attendance records for the focus-factory/process.

  9. Ensure proper control and disposal of scrap materials in the assigned focus-factory/process.

  10. Collaborate effectively with engineering and quality teams to meet scrap, cost, and safety targets, proactively managing process improvements.

  11. Foster a positive and productive work environment with customers, clients, and co-workers through effective leadership.

  12. Analyze variable labor costs daily, determine staffing needs, and adjust labor allocations as required to support manufacturing goals.

  13. Manage all supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining employees, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  14. Coordinate the "My Idea" program for the assigned focus-factory/process to encourage continuous improvement and innovation.

  15. Develop and execute cross-training plans to eliminate skill gaps, ensuring a versatile and adaptable workforce. Maintain competency forms, certifications, and an up-to-date employee skill matrix.

  16. Administer company policies and procedures within the department as required.

  17. Support a zero-injury culture by proactively adhering to environmental safety practices and regulations. Ensure full compliance with SDS requirements and chemical labeling/storage protocols.

  18. Conduct EH&S self-inspections and lead safety huddles to ensure workplace safety in areas of responsibility.

  19. Perform additional duties as assigned or requested by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; relevant equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.

Preferred Skills:

  • High energy, with the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Proven ability to motivate and develop teams to meet performance requirements.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and analytical problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and QAD.
  • Knowledge of inspection equipment, including micrometers, comparators, and dial calipers.
  • Ability to meet competing deadlines and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong supervisory and performance management skills.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85,300 to $127,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
