Job Description:

Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)

Plan, Direct, Coordinate, Manage team efforts in the analysis, planning, forecasting, procurement, and repair/overhaul of inventoried assets to support customer needs, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and helicopter completions. Oversee the planning, inventory management, and replenishment for the Philadelphia Distribution Center and Regional Distribution Centers across the Americas, including the Florida MRO Facility.

Develop and Implement systems and practices to define and maintain optimal stock levels in alignment with the company business plan, customer support target service levels, and supply center service levels. Implement process improvements, developed spare parts packages, and created customer provisioning lists while maintaining effective communication with the central planning function in Italy. Accountable for working capital optimization, spare parts profitability, and inventory efficiency.

The primary customers supported include Leonardo Operators (through spare parts), service centers, Part 145 organizations, the MRO shop, Gulf Support Center, Distribution Centers, and the broader Leonardo Network ().

Key performance indicators Include Planning Policy Accuracy (which measures the quality of planning activities), Fill Rate (which assesses the performance of our planning and sourcing strategy against demand), and DSA (Delivery Service Accuracy), measuring the timeliness of materials delivery to customers.

Review procedures, methods and techniques used in inventory management, planning, forecasting and establish new concepts and procedures, as well as actions, aimed at achieving controls intended to reduce or prevent material shortages while at the same time minimize over-stocking with resultant excessive costs for inventories. Responsible for meeting results oriented goals and objectives of a 3 time inventory turn for moving inventory, while achieving a 85 percent or above fill rate overall.

Direct the analysis of, material planning, repair loop, back orders, re-order schedules, material usage data, inventory reports and other data to ascertain availability and profitability of materials to meet current requirements and to anticipate the impact of further procurement on established stock inventory levels. Manage Inbound and Outbound flow of materials (including Italy, Customers, Distribution Centers, etc).

Become a key user of the company Planning & Forecasting system, review, analyze, correct, modify, the system master data to maintain proper planning and forecasting. Propose, develop and implement process enhancement, new functionalities to optimize planning and forecasting, coordinate local and/or global improvement initiatives with ICT and LHD central planning.

Plans the workload of assigned employees to ensure accomplishment of specific objectives. Functions with high level of autonomy, reporting to the Senior Manager Materials. Develops and mentors resources within the team.

Responsible for coordinating special planning/forecasting projects with internal and external customers, major suppliers and AW central planning.

Responsible for the implementation, follow-up, improvement of all KPIs and required reporting tools to monitor and improve the operational performance.

Manages the supply chain in terms of procurement requirements, re-order needs, management of vendor priorities/performance (both internal and external vendors).

Derives process improvement within the Materials and Planning team and within the entire Customer Support organization.

Qualifications for Position:

A. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain or Business Management or related field and two (3) years of experience in material planning, forecasting and procurement preferably in afterspanet or retails.

OR

Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain or Business Management or related field and demonstrated knowledge of material planning, forecasting and procurement preferably in afterspanet or retails..

MBA preferred

B. Competencies & Attributes

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP, MM module and forecasting tool: Blue Yonder preferred (APO or equivalent, ie. SO99+).

Knowledge may be demonstrated through education, training, internships and/or experience.

CPIM or CSCP preferred
