Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Quality organization is seeking an experienced, hands-on manager to lead the quality & mission assurance (QMA) organizations at the Annapolis campus.   The selected individual will be the primary QMA interface for the Annapolis leadership team, providing leadership for QMA personnel to enable high performing program execution. The selected individual will report directly to the manager of Quality and Mission Assurance for the Naval and Oceanic Systems Business Unit. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing the sector Quality Management System (QMS) and Program Execution Framework (PEF) for the site;
  • Participating in program planning and execution, to include the implementation of quality program plans tailored to the appropriate phase of the program, customer requirements and overall trends and/or risk profiles;
  • Ensuring the Quality/Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering processes are consistent with industry capability maturity models and QMS standards (e.g. CMMI-DEV, ISO 9001, and AS9100);
  • Planning and budgeting activities;
  • Supporting the business acquisition process;
  • Hands-on support to root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action resolution;
  • Broad understanding of risk and opportunity management and customer operations are required for program support work.

The selected candidate must be an inclusive and collaborative leader with the ability to influence others at all levels and have demonstrated leadership skills leading multi-function and technical working groups while directly contributing to programs and proposals. The candidate must have a track record in mentoring and developing the skills of their teams, and driving change across organizations with successful, quantified business results. The candidate must be able to establish strong, collaborative, working relationships with operating and business unit leaders, and customer quality representatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 9+ years minimum (or Master’s degree and 7+ years, PhD degree and 4+ years) of combined Mission Assurance, Quality Assurance, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Program Management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a team lead and/or direct supervisory of people.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. (US Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NGMS QMS and PEF familiarity
  • ISO 9001/AS9100 familiarity
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience
  • Personnel management experience
  • Planning and budgeting experience
Salary Range: $156,800 - $235,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
