  1. General


This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position, that will report to the Director of Maintenance and interacts with the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, Systems Operations Control staff, and the Company’s flight crews. The responsibilities include supervising a shift that handles the day to day aircraft maintenance needs of the Company and involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to the Company’s aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with flight crews in a fast paced/dynamic environment.


  1. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the communication and interaction of the on-shift maintenance controllers to ensure the maintenance department is communicating effectively with Operations, Flight Crews, and/others as needed as part of the daily operation;
  • Acts as the first and primary point of contact for all mechanical discrepancies that may affect the daily operation of all Company aircraft and work with maintenance controllers and flight mechanics to resolve properly;
  • Determines, along with appropriate maintenance and other supervisory personnel, as to whether discrepancies are deferrable under approved MEL and NEF guidelines;
  • Give direction either through maintenance controllers or affirmatively to contract maintenance providers on working aircraft discrepancies and planned maintenance events so that aircraft are back into service with minimal downtime;
  • Approves travel to/from an AOG aircraft for flight mechanics;
  • Ensures that Maintenance Controllers are entering all maintenance related discrepancies into computer tracking systems as required;
  • Ensure that Maintenance Controllers are determining corrective actions based on aircraft service-history, analysis, applicable General Maintenance Manual (GMM) guidance, and Company guidelines;
  • Promotes teamwork amongst maintenance controllers, maintenance personnel, and flight crews;
  • Upholds safety and security procedures and awareness at all times;
  • Has the ability to obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  1. Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher;
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate;
  • Five (5) years’ experience on Boeing widebody aircraft, preferably in a part 121/145 environment required;
  • Three (3) years’ supervisory or management experience in an aircraft maintenance related discipline required;
  • Ability to communication effectively; in both oral and written communication
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and wiring diagrams.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards
  • Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the Internet
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a team environment
  • Travel may be required
