Reports to: Commercial Analytics Manager / Data Science Manager

• Generate actionable analytics and insights and extend it as an integral component of major business change and investment programmes, including flight operations, services deliveries, customer & loyalty management as well as sales management
• Drive and develop technical expertise & training capabilities for data scientists and analysts
• Bring a combination of mathematical rigor and innovative algorithm design to extract relevant insights from data
• Define roadmap for new capabilities in data science tools and culture to advance the analytical power of the company

• Develop and maintain advanced analytics models to optimize airline revenue, including demand forecasting, price elasticity, and revenue management systems 
• Drive improvement, Groom and Grow the data science capability for the airline
• Translate unstructured business questions into quantitative problems
• Advise on appropriate analytical models based on available data, technology and platform
• Prototyping advance analytics and machine learning solutions for business partners    
• Provide Technical leadership to Data Scientists and Analytics 
• Influence key stakeholders to ensure insights are used to maximise value 
• Make intelligent approximations to the model if required to make it scalable and operatable
• Anticipate needs and lead implementation of capabilities such as data modelling, algorithms, new technology & partners 
• Drive knowledge sharing and improvement in analytics skills across Digital Streams and relevant business units
• Recommend and implement the development path of capabilities and skillsets to foster a culture of applying data & insight driven culture in decision making

• Master/Doctor degree (or equivalent education qualifications) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Operation Research, Statistics or related disciplines  
• Minimal 7 years’ work experience in data science, proven track record of leveraging large amount of data to drive significant business impact
• Experience in implementing data science in multiple areas of business domains
• Ability to drive business change in an ambiguity and fast changing environment
• Sound communication and skills to work with business partners of different levels and background. Be able to articulate ideas verbally and in written forms
• Experience in recommending appropriate algorithm and methodology for problem-solving and decision making, leveraging both logic and creativity
• Passionate in latest data scientist, digital & data technology
• Well balanced in model innovation & creation as well as DevOps development principles
• Experience in prototyping and productionalising advance analytics solutions in business
• Proficient in Python & Spark, and experience in machine learning and econometric libraries and frameworks 
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau / Qlik) 
• Strong in time management, with continuous mindset and ability to see through end-to-end processes
