Position Summary:
The Commodity Manager is responsible for Strategic Sourcing, Critical Supplier Management and Stakeholder Management within the Electronics Commodity. The Commodity Manager will develop long-term business strategies aligned with key stakeholders. The individual will be accountable for supporting new product development, along with management of legacy products within the electronics commodity, while driving strategic sourcing objectives, managing critical supplier agreements, monitoring, and improving supplier performance, developing the supplier base and conducting research to support the commodity strategy.

This position is located in Cary, NC. We follow a work schedule of four days in the office and one day work from home.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Ownership of all activities related to New Product Development, including new supplier onboarding, issuing, and managing new production purchase orders, and supporting accelerated new product schedule deadlines.
- Overall accountability for legacy product strategic sourcing and electronics commodity management to support the business partner goals and objectives.
- Analyze electronics commodity spend management opportunities and deploy appropriate strategic plans.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand business initiatives and Supply Chains role in the success of each initiative to meet company objectives.
- Accountable for managing critical supplier agreements including new sources within given commodities, critical renewals, negotiation of terms, issue identification, tracking and resolution.
- Negotiate high-level complex contracts while delivering world-class results.
- Develops successful partnerships with key suppliers to achieve desired results.
- Conducts research to understand supply spanet and commodity trends.
- Collaborates with Procurement Managers to ensure alignment and execution of electronic commodity strategy.
- Drives strategic sourcing and commodity plans to achieve savings and performance targets.
- Continuously evaluates supplier performance and creates and leads teams to improve supplier performance as necessary.
- Understand business impacts and align with stakeholders to effectively assess risk levels, manage supply continuity, develop contingency plans and establish risk management strategies to mitigate risk.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, engineering or relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in Purchasing, Supply Chain or relevant field.
- Experience with supply chain concepts and methodologies preferably in the electronics industry.
- Ability to manage multiple, fluid priorities and proactively address business demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex data.
- Ability to prioritize and allocate resources to align with department and company goals.
- Ability to read product blueprint and specifications.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record to deliver results and achieve goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create strong working relationships.
- Negotiation skills.
- Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI).
- Ability to travel.
