Tasks
The Customs & Export Control Manager is responsible for:
- Develop and update trade compliance program & policies
- Ensure seamless export and import transactions & coordinate with service providers such as customs brokers as well as suppliers, customers
- Audit all export and import related documentation and processes including customs declarations for accuracy and potential compliance gaps and risks
- Ensure administrative & regulatory requirements are met
- Maintain the integrity & completeness of the compliance program
- Maximize corporate efficiency & minimize regulatory ris
- Conduct import & export Risk Assessments to inform Management of potential compliance issues
- Interface to central Customs and Export Compliance departments
- Support operation & business units regarding product classification (HS and ECL) issues
* Participate in other duties as assigned

Requirements
The ideal Customs & Export Control Manager should meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma/GED requiered
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years in Export Trade Compliance, preferably within a company in the aviation sector or related industry
- Government contractor experience desired
- Experience in Canadian customs and export control compliance including import/export regulations, policy and procedure development, customs audit management, duty reductions & recovery programs, valuation and preferential trade programs
- Experience with Canadian Customs Tariff/Export classification and Export Control material classifications
- Experience working directly with CBSA and Other Government Agencies
- Fluency in English language
- Must possess permit to work in the Canada
- Willingness to travel
