As a Business Development Manager, youll meet with customers, facilitate new business opportunities, and develop and execute capture strategies. Youll oversee spanet assessment, monitor spanet activity, identify customer needs, and provide assistance for new product development planning activities. Your duties will also include assessing program opportunities against target spanet, core proficiency, revenue potential, company ability, and projected business forecasts.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field of study
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Typically, 6+ years of progressive business development experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of working knowledge and experience with DoD acquisition processes, including competitive captures to win multi-million contracts
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: business development, capture management, program management, DoD acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification
- Demonstrated ability to work with business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace
- Demonstrated high-energy, tenacious leader who will drive performance and exhibit strong management skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
- Background in the Communication and Joint Fires, Defense industry, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, C5ISR and adjacent spanets
- Understanding of US Department of Defense Military programs or Civil Space services, and acquisition procedure
- Ability to understand customer requirements and operations concepts and interpret, translate, and explain detailed technical ideas to technical and non-technical audience
- Experience with technical spaneting, proposal development, and program management or engineering design
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with others
- An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Extensive history and record of success selling products and XaaS capabilities
- Background in space-based ISR, commercially available data collection, and/or intelligence collection and tradecraft
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (Oral, written and presentation) and an exquisite attention to detail
- Demonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependencies
