Assistant Manager, Sustainability (AirAsia X)
AAX is seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager, Sustainability to support the delivery of its sustainability commitments and cascade group-wide goals as part of our effort to meet the highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. The Assistant Manager will report to the Risk Manager and work towards addressing key factors that contribute to the long-term sustainability of the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a sustainability framework addressing material sustainability matters relevant to AAX’s business.
- Assist in the preparation and publication of the AAX Annual Sustainability Report.
- Ensure alignment with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), and other relevant global sustainability indices.
- Support the adaptation and cascading of Group sustainability goals across AAX functions.
- Monitor, track, and report on sustainability metrics.
- Engage suppliers and partners to communicate and align AAX sustainability targets.
- Assist in developing and implementing processes to achieve ESG compliance across AAX’s value chain.
- Provide regular ESG updates to the AAX Board and Board committees as required.
- Stay updated on sustainability developments and provide regular insights on regulatory changes and international best practices.
- Implement sustainability projects with the support of the Capital A sustainability team.
Candidate Profile:
- Enthusiastic and capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and skilled in problem-solving.
- Comfortable planning tasks independently, managing time effectively, and tracking information in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the aviation or sustainability sectors.
- Familiar with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and sustainability principles.
- Knowledgeable about Corporate Responsibility best practices and sustainability reporting standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with CORSIA and cross-functional project management is an advantage.
- Proficient in Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
