Position SummaryThe Aviation Site Manager is responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing personnel, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality service to customers while meeting financial and operational objectives. This role requires strong leadership, operational decision-making, and hands-on involvement in aviation maintenance operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesRun an Effective OperationLead daily site operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance
Communicate effectively with managers, peers, and team members across departments
Conduct daily meetings with the Director of Operations
Administer and enforce company policies and procedures
Provide teams with the tools, resources, and training needed to meet or exceed performance goals
Engage employees in identifying and implementing operational improvements
Coordinate scheduling, hiring, training, and inventory management
Provide Quality Service & Achieve Customer SatisfactionResolve customer service and operational issues promptly and professionally
Actively work within the operation during peak or irregular periods
Spend the majority of time on-site, interacting with employees and clients
Prepare and review customer correspondence as required
Meet Profitability & Cost Control GoalsDevelop and monitor budgets for approximately 10–15 aircraft work orders at a time
Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives
Administer quotes and bids for various aviation maintenance projects
Manage payroll with a focus on minimizing overtime
Monitor lost time and enforce attendance policies
Ensure Operational & Regulatory ComplianceInvestigate discrepancies and compile statistical data for compliance reporting
Write delay analysis and irregularity reports
Ensure all employees complete required initial and recurrent training
Maintain accurate training records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications & RequirementsProven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams in a fast-paced aviation environment
Ability to work decisively under demanding operational and stressful conditions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership, initiative, and judgment
Demonstrated administrative and analytical skills
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work all shifts, including extended hours when operationally required
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Basic computer proficiency
Work Environment & Physical RequirementsThe responsibilities and duties while performing maintenance include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform day-to-day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance on aircraft
Perform maintenance in compliance with company manuals, approved technical data, and applicable federal regulations
Maintain and properly use related tools and equipment
Perform all work tasks with a high level of quality, safety, and attention to detail
Ensure all required paperwork and maintenance records are completed accurately and handled in accordance with company manuals and federal regulations
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language clearly
Ability to squat, bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
Ability to work from maintenance stands, lifts, and lift trucks
Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods of time
Ability to crawl inside aircraft fuel tanks
Ability to read wire diagrams and understand technical instructions at varying levels of complexity
Ability to follow and disseminate detailed work instructions
Work performed in hangar, ramp, and aircraft environments, including exposure to industrial conditions and varying weather
Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities and duties may change based on operational needs, including emergencies, workload changes, rush jobs, or technical developments
