Basic Qualifications (Required)
- 4+ years of depot-level or heavy general aircraft maintenance experience
- 4+ years working aircraft interior and exterior systems, including:
- Hydraulic systems
- Flight controls
- Landing gear
- Fuel systems
- Engines
- Aircraft monuments
- 4+ years interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures
- Experience accessing aircraft data via computer systems
- Ability to work variable shifts and alternate schedules as mission requirements dictate, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime
- High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing aircraft engine runs and engine borescope inspections
- Experience operating:
- Aircraft tug/tow vehicles
- Forklifts
- Mobile cranes
- Electric-powered elevating equipment
- Familiarity with REDARS and/or Gold-ESP systems
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to ascend and descend vertical ladders and work on elevated platforms
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Lift and carry loads up to 35 lbs (occasional two-person lifts for weights over 50 lbs)
- Frequent standing, walking, balancing, and reaching overhead
- Occasional climbing (3–12 ft ladders/stands), crawling, squatting, bending, and kneeling
- Prolonged rotation of head/neck and operation of foot controls
- Exposure to noise, metals, hazardous materials, and uneven surfaces
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) for eyes, face, ears, hands, and arms
- Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
- Ability to handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials
- Obtain and maintain all required training and certifications
Additional Requirements
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
