  • You will troubleshoot, repair and service E-6(707) aircraft and engine and airframe systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
  • Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications and engineering instructions.
  • Performs a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
  • Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures. Performs such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • You will maintain and repair Navy E-6 aircraft, aircraft systems and components including, but not limited to engines, auxiliary power units, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, oxygen and mechanical components.
  • Apply your technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
  • Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer’s manuals / specifications.
  • Work at this level requires a wide-range of knowledge of E-6 airframe systems, hydraulic, landing gear, air-conditioning and pressurization to include component troubleshooting and repair procedures and replacement of components.
  • Use your thorough knowledge of E-6 aircraft fuel systems and repair, with ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance managers, propulsion / airframe engineers and customers.
  • Additional job duties are required but not limited to: performs corrosion control, preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections, fuel sampling, miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, tow and jack aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, and other tasks as deemed necessary.
  • Candidate could be responsible for providing and receiving guidance and technical expertise to lower and from higher level technicians throughout all aircraft maintenance and/or modification efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• A High School diploma and a minimum of 10 years of multiengine transport category aircraft experience with proven ability to troubleshoot E-6 aircraft mechanical, engine and propeller systems

• Ability to work any assigned shift and overtime as needed

• Physical ability to become respirator qualified and work in confined spaces

• Ability to obtain/maintain a valid state driver’s license.

• Ability to be licensed for and operate appropriate Ground Support Equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to troubleshoot, isolate problems and repair all E-6 aircraft mechanical, electrical, engine and propeller systems excluding avionics.

• Experience on E-6 aircraft in the structural repair, fabrication, modification and installation of sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.

• Previous E-6 engine turn qualification

• Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent
