Quality Assurance AuditorPosition DescriptionThe Quality Assurance Auditor operates with sufficient organizational independence to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, company procedures, and quality standards.  The QA auditor is responsible for audit planning, execution, reporting and follow-up, and continuous improvement, across all Conair operating and maintenance locations as well as at vendor and sub-contracted maintenance facilities.  Understanding the importance of a non-punitive approach to quality audits and collaborating with others to improve quality performance is essential for this role.ResponsibilitiesAudit PlanningDetermine audit objectives, scope, and applicable regulatory requirements.Conduct gap analysis comparing regulations, standards, and company procedures.Develop or validate audit checklists and sampling methodologies. Notify relevant managers and prepare for audit meetings.Audit ExecutionConduct interviews and observe operational and work practices.Review documentation, records, relevant product/service performance history, and compliance evidence.Evaluate adherence to regulatory and company requirements.Reporting & Follow-upPrepare and submit audit reports.Investigate non-conformities and determine root causes.Review and evaluate corrective action plans.Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.Continuous ImprovementSupport development and improvement of internal processes.Provide feedback to improve the audit program.Identify opportunities for professional development and training. Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesOther related duties as assigned by QA Manager.Ability to read, interpret, and apply aviation regulations including but not limited to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Approved Maintenance Organization requirements (CAR 573), company manuals (MPM/MCM), and applicable customer or regulatory standards., to determine applicability to the company or the audit program.Ability to develop and utilize audit checklists and accurately document audit activities, observations, and findings.Assess maintenance practices, facilities, tooling, parts traceability, and personnel qualifications for compliance with regulatory and company requirements.Investigate non‑conformities and facilitate structured root cause analysisIdentify systemic trends and recurring findings.Provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.Ability to maintain objectivity, confidentiality, and professional judgment when conducting audits.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues, and determine appropriate corrective actions.Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, explain procedures, and provide practical solutions.Ability to plan, organize, and manage audit activities and related tasks effectively.Ability to facilitate productive meetings that remain focused and result in clear outcomes or action items.Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate professionally across departments.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Ability to travel within Canada and internationally for business (up to 15 of the time).Education and ExperienceRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 2 years of aviation or aerospace industry experienceValid driver’s license and clean driving record.Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word. PreferredPrevious experience in a Quality Assurance role.Previous experience with QMS Software.Completion of a recognized auditing course.Previous flight operations or piloting experience, risk management and safety management systems are considered an asset.
