Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and avionics maintenance, modification, and testing on military and commercial aircraft systems.
- Read and interpret wire schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings to support aircraft system installations.
- Conduct bonding, resistance, and continuity checks; execute AC/DC power verification.
- Install and terminate electrical wiring and components including coaxial cables, quadrax, fiber optics, and shielded cables.
- Utilize electrical and precision tools such as environmental crimpers, megohmmeters, multimeters, and bond meters.
- Perform Air Data Testing and scheduled maintenance, repairs, modifications, and functional testing of avionics systems.
- Document work accurately and maintain compliance with all regulatory and company safety procedures.
- Collaborate with leads and subject matter experts to resolve technical discrepancies and meet project timelines.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces following "Clean as You Go" principles.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives and maintain required certifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of recent aircraft mechanic experience (within the last 12 months).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems, wiring installation, termination, and testing.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certification.
- Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance protocols (e.g., FOD control, tool control, Human Factors, COSHH).
- Prior experience in both commercial and defense aviation environments.
