We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to become part of the Airbus Defence and Space Romania team. The role mission is to work together with Projects/ products and other Airbus Stakeholders, in order to achieve compliance of the products delivered by our company. The role belongs to the Mobile Solutions Engineering department, the centre of competence for stationary and mobile systems in the field of command and control systems, communication systems, mobile hospitals, border security systems and facility development.

Responsibilities:

• Define and integrate Mechanical & Mechatronic Sub-system / Equipment / Component / Module matching the required safety, quality and performance levels according to Airbus systems engineering processes and the needs of our customers.
• Specify, design, qualify and certify for Mechanical & Mechatronic Sub-system / Equipment / Component / Module considering the following factors: Safety, Systems Performance, Cost, Environmental, Operational and Industrial Requirements.
• Design complex mechanical systems for mobile ground equipment within removable solutions, e.g. shelter installation kits, vehicle superstructures, refrigeration systems, IT hardware enclosures
• Independent creation of related documentation using SAP PLM IT tools , Inventor and CATIA V5
• Conception of MDPs
• Coordinating and supporting production and integration of prototypes and during the series production phase. The works are carried out within predefined specifications (request for proposal) with target price specifications.
• Based on business needs, travel within and outside the country may be required;

Requirements:

• BSc in an Industrial Engineering,  Robotics and/or Machine Manufacturing domain
• Experience in an Machine Manufacturing domain, for minimum 5 years
• English language minimum conversational/ business level – mandatory
• German language minimum conversational (B1 level) – desirable
• Computer literate medium to advanced level
• Systems Engineering knowledge is a plus
