Position Summary Reporting to the Crew Chief and the Maintenance Manager, the Aircraft Certification Authority’s (ACA) primary responsibility includes but is not limited to servicing, inspecting, certifying, repairing and performing mechanical maintenance to an aircraft before it is considered airworthy.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesAble to handle stressful situations in a calm and effective mannerProven time management skills with strong attention to detailKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesShall perform duties as assigned by Crew Chief or ManagementACA personnel are responsible for work they accomplish as well as work they certify with a maintenance releaseEnsures compliance with CAR/STD 571Carry out maintenance, repair and modification on company and customer aircraft and aeronautical productsAssist in the instruction of “on the job” training for Apprentice mechanicsResponsible for the supervision, completion and certification of work performed by apprentice mechanics performing work under their directionComplete and certify logbooks, worksheets and task cards for work accomplishedEnsure that procedures for stock control are maintained as per company policyEnsure the proper care and handling of company tooling and report unserviceable maintenance equipment to the Maintenance ManagerEnsure that safety precautions are being observed by apprentice mechanicsMonitor housekeeping and security of premisesKnowledgeable regarding the locations and use of fire extinguishers and fire alarm boxesAttend training courses as requiredFamiliarity with the Maintenance Policy Manuals (MPM) and applicable Maintenance Control Manuals (MCM) and Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL)Perform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsValid AME license with either M1 and/or M2 ratingHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
