Description:Sikorsky Facilities Maintenance is seeking an experienced general trades worker to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting, and flooring, with experience performing new construction and renovation projects.

You will be responsible for following general instructions, drawings, and sketches in order to repair small building partitions, floors, pavements, platforms, benches, racks, stairs, doors, and other structures, equipment and accessories throughout shop, office, and outlaying areas and facilities.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and strong collaboration skills to work effectively with other coworkers and Facilities professionals.
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Requires ability to use shop mathematics to work from drawings and sketches, and use carpenters tools, calipers, square, scale, level, etc. Also requires knowledge of woodworking principles and methods. Equivalent to 2 years high school plus 2 to 3 years trades training. Must maintain current certification(s) as required.

Experience: 1-2 Years

Initiative & Ingenuity: Follow general instructions, drawings, and standard methods and procedures to plan and perform diversified duties. Judgment required planning and layout work, use material economically and determine best methods. Work from drawings, sketches, and general instructions. Consult working leader or supervisor in cases involving unusual layout or other problems.

Physical Demand: Moderate physical activity required when working with carpentry and masonry tools/ equipment, woodworking machines, climbing ladders, working at heights (roofing, scaffolding), operating pavement breakers, and performing general construction labor. Employee will sometimes work in disagreeable conditions such as cold, heat, fumes, noise, vibration, and cramped or awkward positions throughout the factory. Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to layout work, select proper tools, feeds, etc., sharpens tools, and check work.

Safety awareness: Must be aware of and follow all Sikorsky safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job.

Communication skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers, both verbally and in writing.

Attention to detail: Must be able to pay close attention to detail to ensure that their work is accurate and meets quality standards.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
