Job Description:
PRIMARY DUTY:
Install, troubleshoot, and repair or cause to be repaired avionics systems on customer aircraft. Troubleshoot and repair various electrical issues on customer aircraft. Assist in the shop with any general maintenance tasks as needed. Source, acquire, and track parts and supplies, and help maintain the condition and organization of shop facility, building, and grounds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Troubleshoot and research as necessary to complete avionics and maintenance tasks as assigned by shop coordinator, lead technician, or company owners.
- Perform in-depth publication research such as completion drawings, wiring schematics, AMM and CMM research, etc.
- Acquire certain technical publications required by technicians.
- Source, negotiate, acquire, and track parts based on job needs. Work with maintenance coordinator to maintain inventories and ship outgoing as necessary.
- Procure quotes for outside maintenance services as necessary, develop positive relationships with organizations.
- Assist with and perform maintenance tracking software updates.
- Assist with and perform aircraft database updates.
- Assist technicians on the floor as necessary with various tasks, including general maintenance, cleaning, aircraft stocking, and preflights.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
- Perform preparatory work for maintenance activities, including gathering equipment, materials, and supplies, loading and unloading materials, and laying out materials and equipment for projects
- Perform a variety of routine physical labor tasks, depending upon area of assignment, including posting general notices, pulling weeds, picking up litter, raking leaves and debris, planting, replacing light bulbs, and moving furniture
- Perform cleanup at the end of the day or when the job is completed, including picking up tools, spills, and debris cleaning work areas and performing touch up work as needed
- Assist with hiring and other HR responsibilities for the maintenance organization.
- Set up meeting areas for meetings and events
- Assist with safety training as necessary
- Report any issues or problems that may arise to the Administrator
- Comply with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards
- Assist families and other visitors as needed
- Attend in-services and other required meetings
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Very proficient with computers, both desktop and mobile, both Mac and PC. Must be able to create, use, and improve spreadsheets, advanced email use, advanced file storage and organization, quickly learn and navigate various technical software.
- Self-starting - having the ability to identify and complete tasks with minimal assistance
- Works well in a team
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a maintenance position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Language Ability - Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information
- Verbal Communication - Talks to others to convey information effectively
- English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Troubleshooting & Repairing - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings or other structures
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair Performance of routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Finger Dexterity The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; advises for additional resources
- Attendance/Punctuality - Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time
- Dependability - Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
- Professionalism - Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions
STRONGLY REQUESTED:
- A&P certification
- Experience with maintenance tracking software: CAMP, Traxxall, SierraTraxx
- Experience with Part 135 maintenance operations
- Experience on some or all of the following aircraft: Swearingen/Fairchild Merlin/Metro, Hawker, Lear 45/75, Falcon 900
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- The employee may be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Employee occasionally must lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
Salary Range:
$50,000-$100,000 Annually
