Job Title: Fuel Cell Mechanic
Job Description
As a Fuel Cell Mechanic, you will be responsible for the removal, installation, and inspection of fuel cells and bladders, as well as the assembly and installation of components such as fuel lines, hardware, and fittings on various aircraft. You will analyze aircraft sealing, structural, and assembly drawings to detect seal level deficiencies, diagnose leak test results, and recommend corrective actions. Your role will involve disassembly and teardown operations of aircraft fuel systems, preparing cavities for installation, and using pressure test equipment to ensure the integrity of installations.
Responsibilities
- Perform removal, installation, and inspection of fuel cells and bladders.
- Analyze aircraft drawings to detect seal level deficiencies.
- Diagnose leak test results and recommend corrective actions.
- Disassemble and teardown aircraft fuel systems and related components.
- Install fuel cells and components following specific procedures.
- Use pressure test equipment and make necessary repairs.
- Check the condition of fuel cells for damage and ensure cavity readiness.
- Work from operation sheets, diagrams, blueprints, and verbal instructions.
- Maintain schedules and quality standards.
- Notify supervision of equipment, material, and product malfunctions.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Assist other aircraft mechanics as required.
- Perform assembly and disassembly operations in accordance with relevant directives.
- Conduct operational checks of aircraft fuel systems and components.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of shop mathematics and assembly methods.
- Ability to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and hand and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to operate ground support equipment such as hydraulic test carts and cranes.
- Experience with fuel/defuel operations and leak checks.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Experience identifying and treating corrosion.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to document maintenance and repair actions accurately.
- Compliance with safety regulations and ability to work all shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of experience in related duties.
- Ability to work from drawings, sketches, and templates.
- Experience ordering parts, tools, and materials as required.

Work Environment
You will work in an open-bay, non-climate controlled environment. The position requires flexibility to work any shift, with 1st Shift running from Monday to Friday, 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, and 2nd Shift from 2 pm to 10:30 pm. Overtime is optional. Employees can expense $100 per year for Steel Toed Shoes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
