Job Title: Fuel Cell Mechanic
Job Description
As a Fuel Cell Mechanic, you will be responsible for the removal, installation, and inspection of fuel cells/bladders, as well as the assembly and installation of components such as fuel lines, hardware, and fittings on various aircraft. You will analyze aircraft sealing, structural, and assembly drawings to detect seal level deficiencies, diagnose leak test results, and recommend corrective actions. This role involves disassembly and teardown operations of aircraft fuel systems, following specific procedures and techniques, and performing operational checks of systems and components.
Responsibilities
- Perform removal, installation, and inspection of fuel cells and components.
- Analyze aircraft drawings to detect deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Diagnose and correct errors related to aircraft fuel systems and components.
- Perform disassembly and teardown operations on aircraft fuel systems.
- Install fuel cells and components following specific procedures and techniques.
- Use appropriate pressure test equipment and perform necessary repairs.
- Ensure quality standards and maintain schedules.
- Notify supervision of any malfunctions, defects, and damages.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Assist other aircraft mechanics as required.
Essential Skills
- 2 to 4 years of experience in relevant duties.
- Knowledge of shop mathematics, assembly methods, and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with hand and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to operate ground support equipment.
- Experience in fuel/defuel and leak checking fuel systems.
- Capability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to remove and install equipment and components accurately.
- Ability to identify, clean, and treat different types of corrosion.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to document maintenance and repair actions clearly.
- Adherence to safety guidelines and ability to perform duties on all shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Understanding of shop practice and ability to work from drawings and sketches.
- Experience in ordering parts, tools, and materials as required.

Work Environment
The work environment is an open-bay, non-climate controlled facility. Employees are required to work on different shifts, including 1st Shift (M-F 5:30am-2:30pm) and 2nd Shift (M-F 2pm-10:30pm), with optional overtime. Employees can expense up to $100 per year for steel-toed shoes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
