Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of C-27J Spartan Airlifter aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force’s existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies to support Humanitarian Disaster Relief and crisis response in Australia and nearby regions

Your Role

As a C27J Field Service Representative, you will provide expert advice on the C27J airframe, engine, avionics, and military systems. You will contribute to capability development, engineering, and logistics, ensuring optimal customer outcomes.

You will provide troubleshooting and maintenance support, assist with parts shortages, and reduce system faults. Your role involves drafting technical instructions, maintaining communication with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and suggesting alternative tooling. Additionally, you will recommend corrective actions to maximize the aircrafts operational readiness and safety.

As part of your role, you will exercise delegated DASA P.145 authority, perform NDT tasks, and ensure adherence to Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR). You’ll also identify work opportunities and mitigate risks to capability and business objectives.

Once you have completed the Engineering Authority course, you will be expected to be on shift rotation which includes 2 weeks night shift (3-11pm) and 4 weeks day shift.

About You

Candidates must be eligible for NV1 security clearance and have a minimum of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience (Avionics), including 5 years as certifying staff (DASA B1/B2). Extensive experience with the C27J aircraft or a comparable platform is desirable, along with a strong working knowledge of DASR regulations. Project Management qualifications are desirable but not required.
