The CBP Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Repairman II will be familiar with all ALSE throughout the Customs & Border Protection Program. This position will communicate customers needs/requests directly to the Site Manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform ALSE maintenance/repairs.
- Possess equipment expertise of ALSE work center repair procedures of pre-existing damaged equipment.
- Provide equipment expertise in the repairs of and/or replacement of damaged ALSE.
- Provide technical support for all CBP Air and Marine sites when needed.
- Ensure all materials and workmanship meets the specifications required.
- Ensure the use of proper ALSE Maintenance manuals are located at the workstations.
- Ensure required tools are in proper working condition, workstations are kept in a clean and safe condition.
- Possess ability to read and interpret drawings and reports.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of current FAR rules and regulations.
- Ensures ALSE maintenance/repairs conform to FAR rules and regulations.
- Use Equipment Maintenance Manuals located within the ALSE work center.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed IAW Company Policies and Repair Station requirements.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing and must be customer oriented.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
- Comprehension of AMFAMS operations as necessary for job requirements.
- Ensure work areas are kept in a clean and safe condition
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
- Must have 5 years of ALSE experience
- Professional training/school certificate(s) required.
- Must have a high school or equivalent.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred Qualification:
- An associate degree is preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This classification’s activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 30 pounds. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
The diversity of work conditions may range from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to a flight line environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
