The Assembly Mechanic 2 is responsible for building medium to high complexity assemblies. They are a Subject Matter Expert in specific work packages within the shop. They have experience supporting customer pickups and job completions post First Article or Prototype; Training other assembly mechanics in their area of expertise. Capable of Bonding and Fabrication of a majority of the furniture produced within the shop. Identify continuous improvement suggestions within the work center.

Assembly Mechanic II Responsibilities:

•tAbility to problem solve and troubleshoot producibility challenges;
•tBuild and Bond medium to high complexity furniture and interior major assemblies;
•tExperience in Boeing andor Airbus Process Specifications;
•tProficient in processes within potting and bonding work center (Fill and fair, install insert and edge pot);
•tPossesses limited Subject Matter Expertise in furniture bonding and assembly:
otSupport Fabrication of jigs and fixtures for accurate and repeatable execution of critical fit requirements for components.
otPre-fit and bond, vacuum bond interior components of varying combinations of material type
otForming and bonding of aluminum trim extrusions and sheets, honeycomb panel and other materials for completion of the sub-assemblies, parts or structures.
•tExposure to interior component assembly, custom fabrication of parts, applying complex décor per finish requirements;
•tWith minimal assistance perform complex repairs on components as required by the customer;
•tExperience with shop equipment drill motors, pneumatic tools, band saws, drill presses, various tool grinders, Rivet gun and bucking bar, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner;
•tExperience in use of Chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, liquid nitrogen and special finishes;
•tContribute to work center standard operating procedures;
•tSupport continuous improvement activity;
•tAbility to consume electrical and structural part drawings;
•tTrain other entry to mid-level assembly mechanic shop personnel;
•tOther duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience

•\tMust be at least 18 years of age.
•\tShall possess, at a minimum, a High School diploma or GED
•\t3 - 5+ years' experience in the consuming electrical and structural aerospace\\equivalent part drawings
•\t3 - 5+ years interpreting, authoring and executing assembly and component test requirements
•\tMechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or other equivalent industry

•\tAbility to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure
•\tAble to perform mathematic calculations
•\tWork from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of prototype and production parts
•\tAnalyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences

Working Conditions:

•\tStandard machine shop environment.

Physical Requirements:

•\tOccasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
•\tHearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for safe conduct on the manufacturing floor and to meet job responsibilities
