Job Title: Sheet Assembly Technician

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Sheet Assembly Technician on the 2nd shift, working from 2pm to 12:30am, Monday through Thursday, with overtime opportunities on Fridays and Saturdays. This role involves working 60 hours per week on various projects. The position requires experience with basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices. You will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies according to customer requirements. Identifying nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes is also a key part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements.
• Complete necessary data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
• Set up and operate various shop equipment such as squeezes and precision measuring tools, including drill motors and countersink cutters.
• Troubleshoot problems and continually seek process improvements.
• Perform any required rework or changes during the assembly process.
• Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, as well as smaller bench work assemblies.
• Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED, or one to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Six months of vocational training preferred.
• Experience with forklift, drill press, floor mounted rivet press, and overhead crane.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints.
• Effective verbal communication regarding work processes.
• Ability to write and record process information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of structures experience.
• Experience with sheet metal.
• Commercial manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with skin assembly, major structures, rivets, and hiloks.
• Familiarity with large panel assembly and/or door assembly is advantageous.
• Prefer with companies such as Spirit or Boeing, or in heavy MRO structures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Wichita,KS.
