Key Responsibilities
Operational Accountabilities
Working on a shift basis and under local supervision of other experienced Aircraft Mechanics, Category A Technicians and Engineers by:
- Working towards acquiring a solid understanding of aircraft maintenance knowledge and accomplish all assigned training
- Performing aircraft maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft and third party customers (if applicable)
- Performing local or overseas operational relief duties or standard duties when required
- Helping to monitor third party supplier’s performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc.), follow up and rectify any operational issues in a timely manner
- Supporting the contingency plans and ad hoc operational requirements such as diversions, charters, ad hoc aircraft type changes, major disruption recovery, etc.
- Performing servicing and maintenance for station ground equipment, vehicles and facilities
- Supporting Cathay Quality Assurance, Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and/or third party audits, follow up and rectify the audit findings within the required timelines as directed
- Performing station administration and ensure station documentations/passes are up-to-date and valid as directed by the Engineering Manager/Assistant Engineering Manager/s
- Ensuring compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety standards and regulations/guidelines
- Contributing and working with different stakeholders/teams in assigned training and projects to expand line maintenance exposure
- Any other reasonable task as requested including engaging in non-operational duties
Performance Management and Business Process Improvement
- Ensuring that annual SMART goals are understood and actioned
- Attending performance reviews and discuss career development plan with the designated Direct Appraiser
- Attending station meetings as required to ensure regular engagement and effective communication
- Embracing continuous improvement culture through quality innovation, teamwork, lean processes to drive operational efficiency, productivity and commercial improvement
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- 2023/2024 graduate with a Bachelor Degree or above in Engineering, Aviation or similar discipline
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Demonstrably aptitude and understanding of aircraft maintenance operations
- Have (or be willing to receive) induction training/on the job training as required covering but not limited to:
- Aircraft and Ramp Safety Awareness
- Company Procedures Awareness training
- Human Factors Awareness training
- Aircraft general Knowledge training
- HKAR66 Module training
- Other training as requested
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong ability to collaborate and work as a team
- Previous participation in an airline internship programme or on the job experience in the aviation industry is an advantage
- Valid manual UK Driving Licence is essential
