Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated aircraft mechanic to join our team for a long-term, full-time contractor position. The primary focus will be on Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting aircraft, along with heavy maintenance, engine checks, wheel changes, structural inspections, and overall repairs. Flexibility to work in different divisions across various facilities is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy maintenance checks on aircraft.
• Conduct mechanical work on aircraft engines and systems.
• Perform wheel changes, structural inspections, and overall repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure aircraft functionality.

• AME M2 license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Canadian aircraft maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of heavy maintenance experience.
• Current Human Factors and WHMIS Certification (from 2021 onwards).
• Experience with Q400 aircraft.
• Possession of own tools.

• Dash 8 Q400 endorsement.
• B737 experience.
• Line maintenance experience.
• Experience with aircraft interiors.

Work Environment

You will be part of a team consisting of one lead hand, four mechanics, and several contractors, avionics, and structures technicians. The team works closely to maintain and repair aircraft. Shifts are typically Monday to Friday, with 10-hour days from 6 AM to 4:15 PM, though 8-hour shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM may also occur. Occasional overtime on Saturdays is expected. Bring your basic tooling. The work environment is collaborative, with rotating team leads.

This is a Contract position based out of Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Pay Rate & Travel Package

Pay is based on experience level and may range from $40-$58/hr. Travel package, accommodation, per diems included for contractors outside of a 125km range of the facility.
