Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic - EA18G ModJob Description
We are seeking to hire an Aircraft Mechanic for a long-term, full-time role focused on modifying, repairing, and maintaining military aircraft. Specifically, this role involves modifications for weight reductions and avionics equipment upgrades on electronic warfare aircraft. This is a fully funded position aimed at long-term hire with one of the largest defense integrators in the world.
Responsibilities
- Remove, repair, and install aircraft mechanical and powerplant systems.
- Service aircraft with engine oil and hydraulics.
- Perform aircraft jacking evolutions.
- Understand and use engine fuel systems.
- Set up and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns.
- Set up and use a torque wrench and common hand tools including wrenches and safety wire pliers.
- Remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using various mechanical fasteners.
- Remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies.
- Understand hydraulic systems, including primary, secondary, and emergency systems.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of aircraft powerplant systems (engines, fuel, and auxiliary systems) and mechanical systems (landing gear, wheels, brakes, etc.) to resolve technical problems.
- Familiarize with IETM’s, NAMP 4790, and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.
Essential Skills- 4+ years of experience as a General Mechanic (AD) on F18 or EA18G aircraft.
- Experience in powerplant maintenance and related fuel and auxiliary systems.
- Eligibility for SECRET clearance.
- Eligibility for Boeing badge (no terminations on record with Boeing).
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with F18 or EA18G powerplants, including maintenance performed at Depot or Phase level (shop or on-aircraft), or I Level vs O level (Intermediate/Shop versus Organizational/On aircraft).
- Experience with modifications or heavy/depot maintenance.
- Phase experience related to powerplants.

Work Environment
The position is a day shift, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays possible, 8-hour shifts, on base at Whidbey Naval Air Station. You will be working in a hangar and occasionally on the flight line, mostly indoors and not exposed to the elements. Tools are supplied. You will report to a client Lead, as well as potentially to prime contractor customer leads.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
