The role holder will be expected to lead both short and long term business goals. The role involves effective management of a team of Shop Floor, Materials and Sourcing personnel. Own all aspects of the Materials management, this will include
Operational responsibility for materials supply inventory & fulfillment
- Setting departments KPI (predictive where possible) and holding team accountable to achieve these
- Point of escalation for Sourcing, planning and materials teams, driving forward key issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure full kit availability to the business in line with the plan
- Inventory Management
- Responsible for the Material Deflation for the site
- Oversee the Materials Fulfilment role
- Ownership of Sub Contract & New Material streams including supplier management
- Staff Management & Development
- Drive positive change with the team to continuously improve internal processes along with external supply of materials
- Have responsibility to understand the business strategy and anticipate requirements for the organization delivery of this strategy
- Have responsibility to Implement and lead material strategy for the product line.
- Effectively manage labour, materials and capacity in line with the products life cycle
- Be responsible for integrating customer commitments with shop, new supply, and vendor capacities to assure on time deliveries
- Work closely and effectively with the Senior Leadership Team, and specifically Supply Chain Business Leader
- Interface with key stakeholders both internal and external to the Wales site
Required Qualifications
- Ability to manage and further develop a large team to support the business requirements.
- Experience in the Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution.
- Experience of using ERP system.
Desired Characteristics
- Knowledge of the MRP order and processes and practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
- Advanced experience in Materials Planning and Execution.
- Previous SAP knowledge would be advantageous
