Tasks
The key responsibilities and duties of the Material Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure on-time material availability with minimal logistics costs.
- Support Central MML by clarifying requests and identifying local alternatives.
- Build supplier partnerships to reduce costs and lead times.
- Ensure approved alternatives align with customer agreements.
- Optimize inventory usage, review requisitions, and manage subcontracting activities.
- Source products, negotiate pricing, and draft contracts.
- Identify critical items and communicate with Central MML and Logistics.
- Support compliance reporting and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate material returns and provide updates in meetings.
- Perform purchasing, technical tasks, and personnel training as needed.
- Maintain awareness of environmental responsibilities and company procedures.
Requirements
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Technical/aviation background (university degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance and overhaul (preferred).
- Knowledge of logistics processes (planning, purchasing, warehouse, transport).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
- Assertive, adaptable, and able to handle high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in IT, with SAP and Excel skills preferred.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware.
- Project management experience and creative problem-solving skills.
- Organized, adaptable, and capable of delivering status reports.
