Purchasing Agent
As an Aircraft Purchasing Agent, you are responsible for supporting Maintenance and Maintenance Control with critical part requirements to fulfill variable demands that impact the operation of the airline initiating purchase orders, expediting existing order and coordinating logistics to meet the current requirements. This includes AOGs, MELs, Deferred items and Service Orders.
Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.
Must be willing to travel on shorts or long trips depending on the circumstances
Must have a working knowledge of aviation terminology.
Must maintain a valid state issued driver license.
Previous FAR Part 121 & 145 experience preferred.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Source and purchase all parts, materials, and tooling necessary to support 21 Air maintenance requirements
• Negotiating prices with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company
• Creating purchases orders and obtain approval from Purchasing Manager to request payments and maintain receipts, records, and inventories
• Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products ensuring that parts and materials are received with proper certifications and adhering to projects and budgets.
• Evaluating suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria
• Expediting and route parts to and from maintenance aircraft in a timely manner to support all maintenance operations.
• Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shipping/receiving area and tool room performing additional duties as may be assigned.
• Move serviceable and unserviceable parts to required locations for shipping and receiving.
• Pick up parts from outside vendors or shipping facilities as required.
• Verify HAZMAT requirements are met for incoming / outgoing shipments.
• Monitor all shelf-life affected products and discard and replenish supplies as necessary.
• Monitor parts, tool usage, update stock status and allocation as required.
. • Maintain calibrated tooling and test equipment in a current state including records of calibration.
• Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers’ facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing
• Attend industry trade shows to learn about and stay current on trends and to meet suppliers
