Job Title: Intern | POSITION SUMMARY: A Finance & Accounting Intern supports the finance team with day-to-day accounting, reporting, and analytical tasks while gaining hands-on exposure to financial operations, internal controls, and business decision-making. The role is designed to build practical skills in financial analysis, accounting processes, and corporate finance within a professional environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist with month-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, support schedules) Compile and analyze financial data for reports and forecasts Support accounts payable/receivable processing and documentation Maintain and organize financial records and audit support files Perform variance analysis and basic financial modeling Help prepare budgets, forecasts, and management reports Conduct research on accounting standards, policies, or financial trends Assist with process improvements, data cleanup, and spreadsheet automation Other projects and duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, may be required to train and assist other employees. |

Education and Experience Currently enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university. Rising Sophomore standing in related finance/accounting degree major preferred. Strong academic record in good standing with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted Adequate problem-solving skills Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Certificates, Licenses, Registrations None required although related education, trade, or regulatory certifications preferred. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity. Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives. Travel and overtime are required when necessary. |
